How we write and check content
Who writes the guides
Guides are written and reviewed by doctors with GMC registration who trained in Pakistan and did the house job in Pakistani teaching hospitals. We write for house officers and final-year students, not for patients.
Where doses come from
Every dose in a prescription box links to a drug page, and every drug page lists its sources: international drug references (such as Drugs.com and Medscape), WHO guidelines, and national guidelines where they exist. We avoid sources that cannot be opened from Pakistan.
Which guidelines we follow
We follow WHO guidance for conditions common in Pakistan (dengue, malaria, typhoid, diarrhoea, rabies, snake bite) and use UK guidance (NICE, Resuscitation Council UK, BTS and others) where it reflects good practice. Where Pakistani practice differs, for example because of antibiotic resistance or the medicines available, we say so.
Review and updates
Each page shows the month it was last reviewed. We review guides at least once a year and sooner when guidance changes.
Corrections
If you find a mistake, use the “Report an error” link on the page or email hello@thehousejob.com. We correct confirmed errors quickly.
Limits
Guides cannot cover every patient. They do not replace clinical judgement, senior advice or your hospital’s protocols.
