FCPS Part 1 — the last 30 days
The final month is for consolidation and targeted practice, not for starting new material. Here is a clear structure and the common mistakes to avoid.

The goal of the last month
By the last 30 days you should not be learning large amounts of new material. The aim is consolidation, timed paper practice, and targeted repair of weak areas identified from previous papers.
A workable structure
- Daily timed questions or a full paper segment
- Immediate analysis of errors and a short revision note on those topics
- Scheduled revision passes of physiology, pathology and anatomy high-yield lists
- One full timed paper each week if stamina allows
- Protected sleep — fatigue destroys recall
What to avoid in the last month
- Starting a new textbook or resource
- Panic coverage of subjects you never studied properly
- Comparing yourself constantly with other candidates
- Cutting sleep to add more hours
If a major subject is still untouched, the realistic choice is either to postpone the attempt or to accept a limited score contribution from that subject and maximise the rest.
Exam week
Light revision only. Know the logistics (centre, documents, timing). Do not attempt a full new paper the day before. Arrive rested.

Frequently asked questions
What if I still have big gaps?
Honest assessment is better than denial. A delayed attempt with proper coverage usually beats a rushed weak attempt.
How many hours per day in the last month?
Quality focused hours matter more than total time. Most people do best with a sustainable daily block plus short revision sessions.
